I'm Alive! :) Sorry I've been away so long :(

I have seriously missed blogging the last couple of weeks but my cold got the better of me when Laryngitis set in, then I had and eye infection and the list goes on...I've been trying to get as much done as I can possibly get done while I was ill and I'm still playing catch up can you believe it. I want thank EVERYONE who wished me well :) it has perked me up when I was feeling crappola for weeks and believe me it's appreciated (((huggs))) to all.

So is everyone ready for Christmas...? Are ya broke yet...LOL.. I know I am. I still have a few things to pick up but that's about it. My daughter won't stop bugging me about opening her gifts only because she saw the receipt for Hollister so that surprise went up in smoke...lol..the little sneaky brat! It's nice that she still excited tho...she's 15 and at first she wasn't all that excited until she saw presents wrapped under the tree...of course i don't name tag them because then she'll know how many she's getting...so I have a system that I use so nosey Katrina doesn't go snooping and tear down the tree...lol...

Well I have to tell ya that I've been busy getting my Christmas cards done and I've just recently gotten an order for Bat Mitzvah Invites which were last minute and had panicked I wouldn't get the paper order in on time. I'm hoping with the holiday shipping schedule that it'll get here before the end of the month so I can finish them for the date requested. I will post them for everyone to see once there done.

Well that's it for now. I will touch base with you all sometime over the weekend. It's starting to storm over here so I'm hoping my PC will be working later.

Have a nice day all :)

Day 5 of my Christmas Countdown!

Due to my cold which is now a viral infection my card will not be posted until later. I've never had laryngitis and this is no picnic. When the Dr. told me I had laryngitis I became so angry and sad all at the same time...I can't take anything for it except a prescribed gargle...ewwee! I've never felt this kind of throat pain...it is so bad it brings me to tears when I swallow. Seriously it feels like I was clotheslined in the throat. My DH is taking care of me this morning and he'll be going to work a little later. So maybe later when I rest up a little I'll post the card. I haven't finished it yet.

See you all later.....

Day 4 of my Christmas Countdown :)

Good Morning/afternoon all!

This card you are seeing is probably one of the easiest cards I've done so far :)
The tree images are from Rubbernecker . I really love these trees. They stamp so mice and clean and if I wanted a softer feel with these trees I can do it....I'm not as successful with the Lovely As A Tree set from Stampin' Up. If anyone has some tips please throw them my way...I love this set and actually borrowed it from a very good friend of mine who is also an amazingly talented lady. She uses this set with ease...I for whatever reason couldn't get the same effect with the set.

Well off I go to rest up...thank you everyone for the well wishes! You all are so very sweet. It's actually getting worse, when I thought I was getting better it just decided it wasn't ready to vacate. So now it's set up shop in my chest and throat! JOY!
Hopefully everyone has a great day!

Stamps: "SU" Snow Swirled, Rubbernecker Trees
Paper: "SU" Close to Cocao, Unknown Speckled Kraft, Bazzill

All of these ladies have amazing blogs with idea, tuts, and just great chatting :) Check them out!

Day 3 of my Christmas Countdown :)

Hey everyone! here is a Christmas card with colors I wouldn't usually use but it worked well I thought. I also went with a simple look as opposed to the lots of embellies...don't forget I want it mailable :) This looks blue in the pic but honestly it's like an ocean blue green which was very rich in its color and thought it might work well with the design I wanted.
I've quite the busy day today...still pluggin' along with this awful cold...I haven't slept properly in three days...actually neither has DH :( I'm very surprised he hasn't been Mr. Crabby Pants and kicked me out on the couch with my hacking fits...lol...I seriously don't know how I'm even still walking on the lack of rest and sleep...I guess it's better to get it now than on Christmas huh..?
Okay back to the card...the sentiment was punched out once with the Key tag punch and then I punched it out with the 1 inch circle punch. I wanted a straight edge on the top an the bottom to give a hint of the brown showing to enhance the brown ribbon on the card. I used the nesties to emboss the actual image and the blue background. Click to enlarge the pic to see it :) and of course I have to have my bling :)
Hope you all have a great day today...until tomorrow :)

Count Down Day 2

Hi all! I finished up some cute little treat boxes last night. I have many to make as I have quite a few people on my list for xmas who have children...so these are perfect for them. These are another first for me. I've never made them before so I hope you all like the way they turned out. Each box/container has goodies inside such as sugar free jube jubes and semi sweet M&M's which are far better than the real thing..at least IMO. The big box which really is that big is a 2,5,7,10 box and the other two containers are sour cream containers already sealed with goodies.

This will be a short entry today as my cold is taking control of me today. I usually always have something witty to say but this cold is making me feel miserable :( So hopefully everyone else has a great day.

Recipe:
Stamps: "SU" Sparkling Sayings, Snow swirled
Paper: SU DP Close to cocoa, Rose Red, MAMBI DP, Unknown Speckled CS
Tools: SU Punches, MS Punch, Crimper, Scor-pal
Embellishments: Stickles, Ribbon, pop dots
Inside: M&M's and Jube Jubes :)

Count Down Begins! December 1 :)

Nugget Boxes

Good Morning/Afternoon :) I'm nursing an awful cold with a very sore throat and my head feels like whenever I sneeze my eyes will pop out...lol...gotta tell ya...it sucks having to take care of myself :( DH is at work and DD at school....so I'm alone with my little Lizard Prada :) she keeps me company at least...DH got her for his B-day and guess who gets stuck taking care of her like I don't have enough to do...lol...

Can you believe Xmas is in 24 days...wow I feel so behind with everything this year, I'm feling very overwhelmed. I wanted my tree up weeks ago but DH wants a real one. I don't mind a real tree once in awhile but again, and I don't know about you, but I like to stay on schedule with things, especially with the holiday season. So this real tree business is putting a huge kink in my scheduling. As of today Dec. 1st everything should be done decor wise...then next week all the shopping is done...then the week after is baking week, wrapping prezzies, and doing the visiting thing. I don't have a third of it done...so I'm gonna be really busy this week alone. So hopefully you all will bare with me, I know I'm a little bah humbuggin' :)
I made these cute Nugget Boxes last night when I was feeling well enough to be creative. They all hold those adorable Hershey Chocolate Nuggets. Not bad for my first attempt if I do say so myself :) They're set up under my little mini tree I set up for Prada on her tank :)

Stamps: "SU" Party Punch

A Vintage Pretty

Well I'm finally finding some time to get caught up on some things before I start getting really busy with Xmas shopping and decorating the house. Which to be honest is turning out to be more than a chore as every year goes by. I used to get help from DH and DD but now it's all up to me to figure out where tree is going to go and what color scheme blah blah blah...sounds like I have the winter blues doesn't it...lol...and it's only begun..(big sigh). I think as every year goes by they don't appreciate it as much as they used too...I love Christmas but it's hard to get into the spirit when the rest of the household isn't into it. DD is 15 and all she has on her mind is money as I say (get a job girl!...lol)..and DH works 80 hours a week...so as you can see I think I'm in a Bah-Humbug kinda mood the last little while. Hence the card....Back in the day when a couple would go ice skating on a pond or a lake...or go carolling down the street in the neighborhood or around town. When people made time to enjoy the season...that is what I miss. Now this set has turned out to be my favorite and will probably be on my forever list to never get rid of. And on this one I did not do the inside because it will be customized for my Christmas card giving. The corners of this card were the most difficult for me because I actually threaded the ribbon when I probably should've punched tiny holes to do the threading. This is actually a Martha Stewart Ribbon I got on sale at Michaels. It was nice and soft so I thought it would be a breeze but it wasn't...lol. And of course I can't live without the bling and this card :)
Hopefully everyone has a great day. Time for me to get productive.

Golden Christmas Tree

Happy Saturday!

Okay so I am having my coffee and waking up a little from finally being able to sleep in for a change. I'm always up at 7am every morning inluding Saturdays, which can be very frustrating when I need my sleep otherwise I am the worst person to be around. My DH can vouch for that :)

This card was very simple to do. As you can see I stayed within the same color range as last couple of cards posted. Okay so I'm not sure if I achieved it but I was going for a window type set up with the image without it being really noticeable..like the image is suppose to be on a window blind in front of the window...maybe I'm the only one who sees it..lol...who knows :) Anyways...I embossed the image using Versamark and gold embossing powder. Both inside and outside stamped images are from Stampin' Up.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: "SU" Snow Swirled, To You And Yours
Paper: "SU" Old Olive WW, Bazzill CS, Unknown DP
Ink: Versamark, Close to Cocoa, GOLD EP.
Embellishments: Gold mini brads, rust colored satin ribbon.

Everybody have great weekend!!! :))

Simple Charm Christmas Card

Good Morning or afternoon everyone!
At the moment I'm watching Breakfast Television drinking a cup of coffee trying my hardest to wake up. I really feel Stamp deprived these days...and BT tends to give me a lot of ideas with the different segments they have every morning. Like there fashion, even the food segment and decor segments...I love this show...but the current card was not inspired by BT but in fact inspired by the card in the previous post. I did see a card SCS where they stamped the Reindeer on top the Christmas saying stamp from SU. I wanted the same type of simplicity and elegance so....on goes the glass rhinestones :) This card actually was made all from scraps except the ribbon.

The inside of this card is perfectly simple as well. Now a card like this didn't pass the regular mail standards :( but only for a few cents more I can still mail it. The front of card is not so much as bulky but because of the dimensionals for the main image it didn't slip through the slot as easily...I might be able to get away with it if I flatten it but then I don't want to really damage it. I was going to omit the dimensionals for the purpose but it looked better this way.

I have to get going for now and some things done. Thanks for stopping by :)

Card Recipe:
Stamps: "SU" Winter Post, Heard From The Heart
Paper: "SU" Really Rust, VV, Bazzill, Unknown DP

Holiday Peace

Good Morning everyone :)
It has been almost a week and I'm back and ready to share my newest card. I almost didn't have energy to keep up with everything that was going on this week including stamping...too much going on. I'll get back to that another time :)
Now this card was done with different sets and I promised myself to incorporate only 1 embelly...not including ribbon :) I have to have ribbon.lol...that is just a given. I wanted something simple but elegant looking...I think for Christmas cards you need to be careful with how much you put into the card, especially if you plan on mailing some out. Threadart is where I buy my glass rhinestones with all of the other colors you can't go wrong :) it is in fact the perfect embelly that is nice and small that will give cards that small feature with a big (Unff).
I did actually weighed this card and sized it through the mailing slot device thingy...lol...I have at home for shipping purposes and it is in fact thin and light enough to pass through regular letter mail with a no extra postage :) I'm quite happy with that fact...it gives me the incentive to make more because it won't cost more...I will be posting more cards just like this so I hope you stop by and check it out.
Her is the inside of the card with a snowflake in the corner...just enough to complete it. I have to admit I wasn't one to really do the insides of the card I make but I love doing it now...it just doesn't seem complete without a pretty inside
Card Recipe:
Stamps: "SU" Scandinavian Christmas, To You and Yours, Rubbernecker Trees
Paper: Unknown DP, Bazzill CS, "SU" Old Olive and WW.
Ink: "SU" Close to Cocoa
Embellishments: Satin Ribbon, Glass Rhinestones

I'm EXCITED! I'm now an AVON Rep!!!

I'M AN AVON GIRL :))
Everyone please read the end of this post. Thank you :)
Hey everyone! Along with my busy schedule this week I have finally decided to do some fundraising for Breast Cancer. I looked at all the other options that I had and like a few of them but when I heard about Avon Breast Cancer Crusade it immediately peaked my interest.

A very sweet and dear friend of mine Dawn whom I met years ago online :) had told me about the world of AVON. She and her DH had raised a lot of money through Avon with Avon's gorgeous pink Pashmina Style Scarf for 5.00 each. The other products they have are also beautiful but this was a hit for her. I got instantly excited because who doesn't know about Avon! So she convinced me that not only will it work in my schedule but it's easy enough to do even when you have a busy schedule. So ladies I signed up on Tuesday! It was all around a great day! My brother won his court case, My daughter made the Volleyball team, Obama made history, and I became an AVON REP. :)) I'm grinning from ear to ear...lol...

My DH birthday is tomorrow so I have lots to do and get done so I'll try to post my newest cards in the next couple of days.

Now I have a request of the wonderful people who visit my blog:

Anyone who likes avon please post.
Anyone who would like to win an avon blog candy gift pack please post.
Anyone who likes blog candy please post :)
Anyone who supports Breast Cancer Research I'd like to hear from you too.

The more people that post the more I can decide on whether I should do blog candy :)
Hope you all have a great day!

A Christmas Post!

A quick post before I'm off for the morning. I've got a pretty busy day ahead of me and might not be able to post anything else until maybe Wednesday or Thursday. We'll see how busy I am. Well isn't this colorful yet festive. Another card I'm proud of. It turned out a lot better than I imagined in my head. I mean these colors do look great together
you have to admit :) Again I tried to stay away from a lot of embellishing extras. Personally I think the paper piercing did the trick for that added pop that it needed.
The image was stamped with permanent ink and water colored with SU WCC and an Aqua Pen.
I added a little white with a white gel pen. I tried to age the paper a little but not too much because I thought it might take away from the color of the papers I used.
So here is what was used to make this card.
TIA for looking :)
Card Recipe:
Stamps: "Stampin' Up" Winter Post
Paper: SU Not Quite Navy, Bazzill (green), and generic speckled paper in 2 shades, generic brown.
Ink: SU Close to Cocoa, Not Quite Navy, Real Red, Pumpkin.
Embellishments: Paper Piercing, Corner Adorner punch, brads, WCC, Gel Pen (white), Dimensional strips.

A Cottage Christmas

Hi everyone so here is the card I said I would post. I absolutely love the feel of this card. I decided I wanted it to reflect the image so I kept it simple. And simple for me is not an easy thing to do. No bling, brads, metals or even distressing...lol...but it came out really pretty just the same.

I wasn't able to take back the MS punch because the Walmart I go to no longer carries the packaging it came in. They said it was in some sort of introductory packaging that they no longer carry so the skew is new and the old ones are not in their system anymore. So here I am quite confused and just told whateva! I couldn't even exchange it or even refund it. I was mad at the time but there wasn't anything I could do except buy one from Michaels. I got it with my 40% coupon so it's wasn't too bad. Plus I got a few more during the week with the other 40% coupons I got that are printed on the reciepts :)) I have yet to use but can't wait and when I do they'll be posted up!

Rubbernecker is another of my favorite Stamp companies. The trees I used on the inside of the card are from Rubbernecker.

Card Recipe:Stamps: "Stampin' Up" To You and Your and Snow Swirled, Rubbernecker Pine trees set.
Paper: Bazzill, Generic Speckled paper in 2 shades, SU Very Vanilla.
Ink: SU Close to Cocoa
Embellishments: Martha Stewart Punch, Cuttlebug Folder, Ribbon and Stickles.
Thanks for stopping by :)

Falls Simple Elegance

Well I've stopped in the middle of my busy day for a little bloggin today...or at least until later this evening when I can blog my DD Halloween costume...I think she said she was going as a THUG!...LOL...well I have a sarcastic nature and I wanted to say something smartalic but I was too tired to start an insult battle with my 15 yr old...I'm sorry but isn't she too old to be trick or treating...I mean c'mon now! Anyways...a little later I'll be posting pics of my evening.

Here is a Fall card I made. With the weather feeling more like Fall rather than winter I thought I'd share this one with you. I sold it and no longer have it :) I have to learn to stitch a little straighter but the buyer didn't seem to mind. She loved it so who am I to complain :)

This is the inside of the card

TLC192~SCS~Challenge

Season's Greetings

Hi everyone, I didn't get a chance to upload this yesterday as it was a card for yesterdays technique challenge on SCS.
I used my favorites self adhesive gold beads for accenting the bottom of the card and the where else you see them. This technique was actually easy to do and loved the way the final end product came out. I didn't want to over do it because the card is already got a busy background so I decided to use gold accenting instead and of course matching ribbon.

I have another challenge to upload a little later...it's actually todays challenge but it's not quite finished and I have to make dinner right now...hope you stop by later :)

Some Of My Favorites~Cont...2

Serendipity
The softness of the card background is what inspired the Serendipity quote. The background was sponged and lightly brayered and the stamped images were stamped with permanent black ink. The flower images were stamped, embossed, pop dotted for dimension and water colored. The sheer organdy ribbon holds a pearl hat pin. And of course my love of he glass rhinestones for that added touch of elegance.
Now the inside of the card was in fact stitched :) I didn't stitch the outside because it already looked nice the way it was. The image on the inside was stamped and embossed and sponged to compliment the front of the card. The stamps were from "Stampin' Up"

Some Of My Favorites~Cont...

Happiness and Harmony

Here is another with the same sponged background technique. I used dry embossing and cutting dies for the center sentiment. The wild flowers are from a stamp set from "Stampin'Up" I can't remember the name of the set right now. And of course stitching. My worst enemy at this point. I do try though. The butterflies are layered for demension with a hint of glittler on their bodies. I also glittered the outer matting of the card and the edges of the sentiment.

The inside of the card has been stitched, layered, and sponged for the same soft feel as the front of the card.
I think my favorite feature are the layered butterflies.

Some Of My Favorites

Well I promised some of my favorites this evening and here they are with a small description of each one.
First I'd like to apologize for the picture. It was over cast that day and some sun finally came out but I was also using a daylight lamp so the background is actually a shadow.
This card was my first card that entailed stitching...as you can see it was my first time..lol I tried what can I say. This stamps I used were from "Stampin' Up" The blossoms were stamped and embossed in black on watercolor paper and also watercolored. I used an irridescent embossing power to give the branches a dusky glow.

The background image was sponged and brayered for the effect of dusky evening. The inside was also stitched and embossed.

My Moms Birthday Card

Good late morning, early afternoon, whatever it maybe where you are :) Well I've been surrounded by birthdays this month which has kept me busy and put a huge dent in my wallet. I went to a friends birthday dinner/dance thing last night which actually ended up being a celebration for 3 people. I didn't know the third person but it turned out nice. Mind you I wasn't to happy with the dinner...it came cold. So I pretty much had to hurry and eat before it got any colder. Oh well...My DD had her second birthday dinner with her friends at a restaurant in the same street. So we were doing the Birthday thing this weekend...however my DD has been doing it for last two weeks. My mom is next...she wants to go to Red Lobster which was put off due to her busy schedule. Actually I like Red lobster so I can't wait for that dinner to come around. :)
Now I wasn't able to make a card for my friends but I made this card for my mom...it is so much like her...the colors and the color of the flowers...it turned out beautifully I think. She loved it..at least I think she did...lol...she doesn't really show a lot of emotion. I have more to share but will have to do that a little later I have a ton of things to get done today and I was a late riser today...check things out in the evening I'll have some of my favorites posted.

Challenge~WT189~Noel

I really enjoyed this challenge only because I got to use a set I've been meaning to use since I got it. I'm really behind with the challenges and love doing them and now that I've started again you'll probably see more from me than the norm. With Xmas coming soon...(yeah I'm preparing for Xmas already) I'll have a lot of Xmas cards and goodies in the near future. This card looks so pretty in person I really don't think the picture I took does it justice...I tried to manipulate the pic enough to show off the details but this was as good as I was going to get with it. The edges were distressed and the snowbanks were dry embossed and glittered with stickles. I only use glass rhinestones...it is my personal preference because the acrylic can look very plastic like on some designs, colors, layouts and so on. The glass rhinestones give off the same look as actual crystal gems which I happen to adore and you will see in many of my cards.. Sometime I do use Swarovski crystals when I make personal cards for friends and special occasions. I also used my favorite colors for this card :) River Rock, Black, and Bashful blue.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Season of Friendship "Stampin' Up"
Paper: Whisper White, River Rock, Basic Black and Speckled CS unknown.
Ink: River Rock, Bashful Blue "Stampin' UP" Versafine Black
Embellishments: Glass rhinestones, Stickles, Cuttlebug Folders, Bashful Blue ribbon, Tab Punch

Challenge~LSC191~Christmas Wreath

This challenge was today's LSC191 and it felt like it took me forever to do. The design was simple enough to do but creating the wreath itself seemed to take the longest. And I was suppose to use pink in this challenge and I totally forgot! I actually remembered when I uploaded to the thread on SCS...oooooppps. I asked for forgiveness...lol...great bunch of people on SCS.

Now I had a few questions about the gold embellies. I got these at Michael's actually. They are just like the self adhesive pearls only in gold. It comes in a package with three different sizes and 144 pieces. Also come in pearl and silver.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Little Paper Shop
Paper: DP, Brown textured CS, Bazzill Monochromatics.
Embellishment: MS leaf punch, Gold self adhesive pearls, Shimmer Ribbon, "Stampin' UP" punches and Dimensionals

Hey Scare-deee CAT!

My daughter is getting ready to go to Canada's Wonderland for the FEAR FEST! We went last year and it was a blast! Actually no I think it was the year before..and of course every year it rains for this event. I would like to go but DD doesn't want mommy tagging along. I loved the haunted houses and all the frightening THINGS that were walking around. I think the grossest thing for me was walking into the one haunted house and things crunching and scurring beneath your feet and when finding out they were actually cockroaches I started to freak OUT!...lol. I absolutely loathe those things. DH didn't seem to mind..I mean he does pick up bugs and throw them back outside with his bare hands...eeewwweee!!

This particular card was one of my many firsts. The background alone took my a few hours to create all done by hand. I tried my hardest to achieve a dusky looking nightfall to bring out the images I planned on using. I am truely happy with how this turned out.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Autumn Appartitions "Stampin' Up"
Paper: Bazzill, DP, Glossy Cardstock
Ink: Stampin' Up and Versafine
Embellishment: Brads, Ribbon, White gel pen, Punches, Cuttlebug Folders

Trick or Treat or Spider Feet

Okay so I have to say that spiders completely freak me out...even the small little baby ones. I get DH to pick them up and put them back outside. Now personally because they freak me out to the max it's out of reaction to kill them. I get yelled by DH about killing them so I let him deal with them. I'm sorry, but there are just some spiders that are too creepy to wait on DH to deal with. I remember a day My DD was sitting on the couch in our old house and this Toonie sized spider was sitting 1 foot away from her head and the shrill of her scream I swear should have shattered the glass windows...lol...My heart literally jumped out of my ribcage. Well I had no choice but to deal with this spider by myself...lol..what a show that was at the time. She did manage to laugh while I was jumping around try get rid of it.

Now when making this card my main goal was to make it look cute...but cute wasn't working for this card so I went a little more....seasonal...? I used my new Tim Holtz Distressing Inks for the background and the stamps were Inkadinkado.

A Distressed Halloween

I love this card! I had a hard time with the background but once I perfected it the way I wanted, it turned out better than I had hoped. It was my first attempt with Tim Holtz Distressing Inks. I think I played all day when they were delivered by the mail man :) I came up with some really nice vintage backgrounds for a few other cards I had in mind. Those will be posted at a later date.

Halloween for me isn't much of an event in our house and I wish it would be because I love dressing up and singing the Monster Mash. Who can resist dressing up and being something or someone else for a day. I have some costumes laying around but they dont get any use. Now my daughter just turned 15 used to love Halloween and got excited weeks before the day even arrived. Her mind would change daily about what she would dress up as. My favorite was when she dressed up as Blossom from the Power Puff Girls...lol..she loved that cartoon. Those were the days I suppose.

So here is the card...the envelope was also handmade by me. I used the envelope maker which I absolutely love. When I have some more time I will start listing a materials list so you'll know what I have used for each card. Have a great day :)

My Blog Breakthrough!

I had thought about doing a blog for a long time I just didn't have the courage to do it. I mean so many people out there have stamping blogs and I'd prefer to read theirs then do my own. I have had a lot of requests to see my cards and the samples I have are usually OOAK (One Of A Kind) until they're either given away or sold. So I have finally decide to have a blog of my own to showcase the cards I have made in the past and presently.
Because I am still new to this whole proces I hope you'll be patient with me :)

Here is a holiday card I made awhile ago. Notice the doily lace punch is missing a hole...grrrr...didn't notice it until after the card was finished. I'l have to return the punch and get another one. Still a favorite of mine. Hope you like it :)
