Been Busy! But a Slew of new CARDS!

Hello everyone!
I've been busy with the holidays and with that comes with no sleep and lots of anxiety...lol..however i finally managed to get some time to post up the Xmas cards i made for friends and family...
I really wanted to get out of the standard size and do mostly 5.5 x 5.5 cards. I didn't have envelopes so i used the Martha Stewart score board to make the matching envies. I don't have pics if those but i used sketching for the larger envies because the paper comes in the perfect size for square envelopes.
Take a look at what I've been working on and let me know what you think :)

I used a variety of supplies and techniques to make each card it's own...
Thank for looking and your comments are welcome and appreciated :)

Michelle

Another Experiment :) Bow maker...

"If you have never tried the bow easy…then you truly are missing out!  It’s simple, it is a great tool to have, and your gunna love how the bow becomes fluffy and perfect every time”.

Well I heard all of this and was never really interested…I do all my own bows without any problem and at any size I want…then I got curious…lol

I had an old piece of chipboard from the back of a legal note pad. I cut it in three and just measured what typical sizes I normally use for my cards…
I made one (green with brown circles) with 2 slots that makes 5/8th of an inch and 7/8ths of an inch bow size.
Another one (orange with white flowers) with 1 slot that makes 1 ¼ inch bow.
The last one (grey with brown flowers) with one slot makes 1 ½ inch bow.

I cut out the chipboard with a craft knife and then covered it with patterned tape I got from the $1 bin at  Michael’s. the tape I found works well when it’s stretched to keep it bound nice and tight. The ribbon also slides off quite nicely also :)
Another experiment...went well :)
Have a great day!

Experimented Making Flowers

So I woke up this morning feeling very tired…I’ve been dreaming quite a bit and that alone tends to tire out your body…however I have been feeling much better than I have in a long time..so that is a good thing…
I have been experimenting and working on some stuff to share with you all. I was never really interested in the prima like flowers with all the glitter even though I love shimmer to live up a project. Here are of the flowers I have worked on...whaddya think ?

The first picture have two flowers made with Bazzill fabric flowers that I had forever!!! I took the time to trim them and dye them and shimmer spray them! I love the way the turned out. The middle one is made from organza in six layers LOVE IT!!
The second picture were a little more difficult because of materials I was using...raffia, Victorian lace wide organza, satin ribbons...I have seen them posted and loved the look so i decided to try my hand at them... :) I\m quite pleased...now I have to figure out which one I will use for what...lol..
Have a great weekend everyone!

Pick My Favorite :)

Good Morning!

I am posting up three cards today and you all have to guess which one if my favorite...
now i do like them all and they all are the same colors but there is one that i do favor the most. The image itself is adorable and from The Greeting Farm. I wasn't to copic savvy and almost the whole collection, so I did practice allot and really liked how some of the images I've done turned out. You might not be able to see it unless you open the image but used shimmer paint on the edges to give it a pearlized look.

so here is the first One

And here is the Second One

And this one is the Third one :)

Hope you have a great day all!
Michelle!

CARD RECIPE:

Stamps: TGF
Paper: Retired Summer Sun, Really Rust, Neenah Solar white, K& Company DP

Autumn is.....

.....the season when nature breeds its colors
....the air is dampened and dew lays upon it surfaces
.....chipmunks jumping from branch to branch to find the last of its provisions
....leaves descend from its owner, covering the ground in a ray of vibrant hues
....Autumn is Springs brightest moon.

Autumn is definitely a favorite time of year...thanksgiving, kiddies back to school, and the fresh autumn air, pumpkin picking and so much more....
I was sitting on the porch just admiring the stars and taking in the still air, and my hubby came out a started talking and didn't hear much of what he said, i was to engrossed with slight chill in the air....amazing...and because of the air...I actually slept! Insomnia...! I hate it :(

The cards are very simple and decided to start using up some of the old SU colors of CS I had in my stash...I love this image and paper pieced the pumpkin.
thanks for looking :)

CARD RECIPE:

Stamps: Inkadinkado
Ink: SU BE
Paper: retired SU CS, MBI autumn DP
Embellishments: Glassy accents to bring out the flowers

Sorry I've been MIA

.......I've had a lot going on and to be quite frank doing the best I can to enjoy my life with very little responsibility. Last summer was horrible for me and this year I promised to reconnect with old friends and do many of the things I have neglected to do...I have started making my cards again. However they aren't as detailed as they once were but getting back into the swing of things can be a little intimidating. I thought I would drop a line to everyone to let them know I'm alive and well and feeling much better than I was before...My health is getting back to more manageable state and I thank my family. friends and god for all the support I have gotten over the last few months!

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying what looks like the last of the summer before kids go back to school.

I will be back soon I promise :)

Lots of love!

HOOOPPPPYYY EASTER ALL!!!!

Hey everyone!!!

I'm sorry I haven't been posting anything for awhile I've been busy with different venues lately.
Although not all bad and yet it can only get better, is the outlook I have right now. THINGS are getting better. It does remind me how precious life is and how short LIFE truly is.
Been spending my time helping and learning about lots of medical things and loving the new people I meet everyday.

I myself have been ill and though not comfortable with broadcasting it I am on the way to recovery. My family is awesome and today is the day I say to all those who read my blog...

LOVE, LIVE, LAUGH!!!!
Don't sweat the small stuff...
EVERYTHING happens for a reason...
And....GOD BLESS!!!

Love to you all

Challenge #105 Distressing-Sparkle image

Hello everyone! Here is my card for this weeks Corrosive challenge 105, Now I love distressing but using the image really did make it a challenge. The image is from SparkleCreations and this one is Cocktail Emily. I colored her her Copic markers. The glass I used C1 for slight shading and the used glass effects to give it a more realistic look. The background matting I used Tim Holtz distressing inks in three complementary colors. I distress the frame I used for the image and gave it a vintage feel by sponging SU CC around the edges.

I hope you all like it :)
Have a great day :)

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Sparkle Creations Cocktail Emily
Paper: Neenah White, GP white, Cougar white for the base.
Ink: SU CC, Memento Black, Tim Holtz Distressing inks, Copic Markers.
Embellishments: Prima Flowers, Lime green Rhinestones Spellbinders oval Glass effect, Stickles

Challenge #104 Magical Creatures

Hello everyone :) Okay so My card literally got messed up and I'm quite upset but I didn't feel like making another one so I hope that it's not too noticeable. The liquid pearls that I love using smeared when it fell so I had to compromise and make a line around where the dots were...

I'm still not 100% happy with it but whateva!! I'm having one of those weeks I guess...
even the picture didn't turn out well...

This is my entry for this weeks Corrosive Challenge Blog

I did combine two challenges though because I was away last week. So I put the sketch and this weeks challenge to work on this card...maybe that's why I feel it didn't turn out well...

Let me know what you think..
Have a great Day!

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Inkadinkado Fairies
Ink: Su CC, Memento Ink, copics
Paper: MME DP, Bazzill, SU CC, Neenah White
Embellishments: Ribbon, White Lace, MS Punch, Liquid Pearls

Challenge #102 Red, Orange, Yellow...Fire

Hey Everyone!
The late post is a combo challenge from #101 and  #102
I added a button for challenge 101 to the flower and the colors required for this weeks challenge were fun. I have a ton of Bazzill Cardstock and the shades of REDS, ORANGE'S, and YELLOWS were a plenty in my collection. So I used my MS punch and punched out three borders and thought simplicity would be perfect for the colors of this challenge seeing as they are quite vibrant.
So here is my entry!!
Hope you all like it :)

Card Recipe:
Stamps: SU Whimsical Words
Paper: Unknown White Base, Bazzill CS
Ink: ColorBox Dark Brown
Embellishments: MS Punch, Prima orange flower, red button, Rhinestones

A Fantastic Find and Great InFo!!!

Hey there everyone...well I'm not posting a card to today but will be posting links and feeding you all some terrific info...

A very dear friend of mine whose daughter is a grand Make-Up artist now has a blog of her own. I always get irritated when I have to buy a piece of make because testing it in the stores are not always going to look the same as when you bring it home and then put it on. Then that is when you end up deciding if it suited you or not...then decide if was a waste of money. Been there DONE that!!! lol

The links below will get you directly to Karleigh's Blog

Here is a link I think everyone would get something out of

This link too Is also extremely helpful

Here is a tip with using eyeliners

Now for me personally I love make up and have used almost every product under the sun so the info I'm finding on her blog is actually helping me decide on what my colour swatch should be. Highlights, foundations...lip colors and so on...now what do you do with the make your not using...

Well Ladies!!! we all Make Cards and Scrapbook and there is lots of info on the net about how to incorporate unused make items instead of dishing out mounds of money that some of us either don't have or are not just willing to spend..Links for those too will soon follow.

Enjoy the info and let me know what you all think or better yet leave her a comment letting her know how she was found.
Have a good day all!!

Challenge #100 Reuse, Reduce, Recycle and a Story :)

Hello everyone :)

I'm VERY late with all my challenges but what I have done is combine all the challenges missed into the Reuse, Reduce, Recycle challenge # 100!!!

So here is a cap of what I've done with this card.

For Challenge #97 Purple and Yellow I had some Tulips that I had die cut from an older Sizzix Die and assembled them with the stems from awhile back. I trimmed the Tulip heads and the leaves and pop dotted them onto an oval Spellbinder Die cut. The Butterflies were punched from a MS punch which was accented with light purple wings. The yellow was the ribbon and bow. Also as you can see I had decided it looks better without a sentiment. Whaddya think...? Ya no..?

For Challenge #98 Sketchy Time I decided to keep it completely white because I liked the contrast with the Purple and Yellow. It wasn't a hard Sketch but I did find it difficult to use when I was combining everything. But I managed :)

For Challenge #99 Lace and Pearls I used white lace to enhance the Sketch from the week before and pearls on the leaves which I thought set it off simply and elegantly.

For THIS WEEKS Challenge on Corrosive was the Reuse, Reduce, Recycle. I guess your could say I reused the tulips as they were just sitting there not really being used but the real recycle item was the yellow ribbon from and organza bag I was going throw out. I decided it was perfect because it was yellow for an earlier challenge and it was part of this weeks challenge...aaaaahhaaaaa...lol....I'm so clever sometimes..lol J/K..I did have to flat iron the wrinkles out so the bow would sit properly and that was not easy because the ribbon is a thin organza and so I put it between a piece of cotton material and away I went :)

So there is the story behind this card for the week...lol.. :) I hope you all enjoyed it.

Hey everyone just a short note that my life has been a little busy lately and there have been lots of changes going on. I'm hoping to get some cards posted up this Sunday and get back into gear with Corrosive Challenge Blog.
