So the challenge was to make a card that moves...so I made a record player of sorts...and the record does spin :) This was fun for me actually because I kinda stayed with the whole 80's theme...My first record ever was when my cousin bought me an album in Trinidad of my favorite song as a kid...My favorite record of all time is my Michael Jackson Thriller BABY!!! lol....I actually have the original and mounted it when he died...so this is my Thriller album:)

Hope you all like it!!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: none
Paper: Bazzill Basic white black for the record and SU CC for the middle, Silver CS for the needle

Corrosive Challenge #91 80's Flashback!!!

hey everyone...I'm late this week with my challenge entry for Janets Blog. I've had a great but busy week :) With the holiday's coming very quickly I am trying to get as much shopping as I can before the CRAZY rush!! I'm almost done!!! Whoo hoo :)

Let get to the Challenge :) I made a card but  ruined and will try it again and then post it, but I did come up with this box. My very first Sony Walkman or walkman period was one that was 5lbs heavy and an over the shoulder strap...lol The headphones are the handles...remember those big spongy things...lol...Talk about nostalgia...lol...I came up with this box for a couple of reasons...I loved John Hughs Movies and the Breakfast Club is still without a doubt one of my favorites...The song Don't You Forget About Me used to blare throughout my house when the parents weren't home...and i still do today...lol...The era of Michael Jackson being the first Black African American to televise a music video...where Madonna broke all the rules of tasteful lyrics (love her)...where Flashdance was the first sexy dance flick then along came the Hottie of the 80's Patrick Swayze..(drool) in Dirty Dancing...time machines were made of DeLoreans...lol.Love Michael J Fox!!...the big hair...skin tight jeans...leg warmers and neon colors to boot....and lets not forget the when VHS beat out Beta...lol...to many memories to count...too many good times...The best decade of the century..why...because it was the most unique in its style and life was an adventure with the movies, music, fashion...you name it....I loved this challenge...Thanks Janet!!!

Corrosive Challenge #90 Sketch!

Happy Sunday all!!

Well I had an interesting weekend to say the least...how was your weekend :)

I've been enjoying the sun this week! Usually this is the time of year when it's begins to slowly get gloomy and the weather gets damper not really colder. Not yet anyways...

Here is my card for the Corrosive Challenge Sketch this week. I didn't want to use a solid circle so I die cut a circle and embossed it with the spellbinders circle die. The deer is a felt sticker from Basic Grey. Thank You Rosie for a great deal on these :) i also broke out the liquid pearls again and outlined the card and the circle with tiny dots of pearls...

I love it. It is just simple for anyone at any age :) hope you all like it!

Card Recipe:

WHAT A FABULOUS NIGHT!!!

Good Morning All!!!
Last night I got a surprise from my DH. It was our 11 year anniversary and we were only going to do something quiet because we've been busy and he's had such an unpredictable work schedule that we actually had to postpone his B-day which is on the 7th, and our anniversary until the end of the month...lol..
He called me up around 4ish in the afternoon and told me to get ready we're going out for dinner. So I'm thinking...maybe The Keg or something like that...then he tells me no jeans...lol...I'm like huh..? Okay so it's not The KEG...lol...

On our way I recognize the route he was taking and we ended up at my all time favorite restaurant. It's called THE OLD SCOTT HOUSE.
Dinner alone is 80-100 person minimum!
It's a historical site on top of that...here is the plaque from the building
Fine dinning at it's best.
I took my DD for her 13th birthday as a treat and opened her mind to what fine dinning really meant.
Here is my disappointment though...it is no longer OLD SCOTT HOUSE, but now the Baton Rouge.
The food was still excellent and cost a little less, but not the same ambiance that I remember. A little louder...the waiters are not in black coat tailed jackets and the sections are now more open then they were before.

But!!! none of this ended up mattering because the waiter was awesome and was very helpful and educated with the food and wine which was Divine!!!! Filet Mignon and a bottle of the best red wine I have ever had. I almost teared up at the end of it all....lol...it was that good...lol...

I will definitely miss the Old Scott House the way I knew it but thanks to DH's Boss gave us a night we thoroughly enjoyed. We had such a rough year that last night more than made up for it.

(HUNNIE IF YOU READ MY POST TODAY, I LOVE YOU DEARLY! THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL EVENING)
