My First Time Selling My Crafty's

Hi Everyone
I have been having blogger issues and for awhile gave up trying to figure out why I'm have problems posting. So I hope this one works out.

Soooo... I had a festival for June 1 and made some things for our table. I shared it with a friend of mine from work. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do this or not because of the amount of people who go to it, ranges in 50,000 - 60,000.

Did I do well...? no.. :( I will try again at other venues...maybe.. lol..
I'm posting some picture here from the festival.
I have different view on how it set up my section, and as you can see I love my doilies :)

I far right corner are these little hats that were made by my partner. These were my favorite of her items.

here are some pin cushion from one view

Another view of the table

My skinny note pads with pens

Wine cork key chains. I made these very simple..How ever I should have showcased these better. I got a lot of compliments on these.

Ribbon jeweled bookmarks. I had some many more but I didn't finish them in time.

These are the book hook bookmarks. I charmed them up :)

And last but not least. A close up of one of my favorite color combos. The shabby chic look :)
I'm also looking into different things that are good sellers.
If anyone wants to give out some tip and ideas please do.
Have a nice day guys!! :)

Silhouette Cameo Stencil Cuts

Hi :)
Well I was messing around with my Silhouette Cameo and wanted to make my own stencils. I bought Grafix Film from Michael's .005 thickness. I have heard that the .007 is a bit sturdier but that was all they had so i decided to try it anyway. First I used a Silhouette Image from the online store. I set it up on my Cameo to cut and Voila!!!

The setting I used were blade at 4 and selected the chipboard medium from the list.
I needed a sticky mat to I used a newer mat that I had.
I put the setting on double cut and left it at 33 with a speed of 2.

I got right into it and made a few :) .30 cents a stencil!
Now that I can deal with

Having some ISSUES with blogger Grrr!

Hi everyone

For some reason my posts are disappearing or not loading. I keep getting the error code and I'm not sure what is going on. As you can see I've changed my blog around but I can only go through Google Chrome to do anything.
I'm annoyed just writing about it. Some of the changes are showing up better on IE rather that Google and vise versa .

I'll probably load up another rant if I can figure this out.

Time to get back into the groove

Its been too long since I've blogged.I was caring for my dad who had a stroke November 2012 In that whole time I have very little time to myself. I lost him. He passed away this past November.

I joined a swap a Split Coast Stampers. I thought it might help me engage in things I used to enjoy. It was a  a Christmas Elf SS Swap. My father had passed away during the swap and it was difficult. However, when I got mine I was smiling from ear to ear.  She was understanding and patient as I was taking on a lot with the passing of my father.

I became behind in another swap that I was happy doing and she too was very understanding. I decided to join a couple more to get me back into the groove again. It was definitely a challenge for me with the two projects you see below.

I've never created an Asian card before stalked the net for ideas. You'll never guess what turned out to be my inspiration! KARATE KID LOL "wax on wax off" :)

Now I think it turned out okay but like I said it was a challenge.
The photo below is the shutter doors, I used vellum to make it look like the Japanese doors made with frosted glass. I think it was glass, or maybe some sort of rice paper.
This is the inside with a silhouette of a bamboo branch on the Red Sun.
I also made envelopes with some Asian paper from my stash that I found.
Here is another project I did for a swap. I have always wanted to try and make a mini tin. I love vintage, shabby chic etc.. I forgot to take photos of all of the tin. I used small coned bead caps as feet on them so it can stand like a little mini box..The inside of the tins were pillowed with fabric.
I used Ink Gold and Gesso to give it a vintage feel. If you click on the photo you' be able to see the other details.

Thanks for looking and let me know what you think. :)

Swap That Cheered Me Up

I know I've been MIA.
While I was taking care of my dad things did better. I had a little more time, and even tried to get back into the swing of things and making my cards. Work had also been keeping me busy so I was always distracted but tired at the same time. But good tired not a stressed tired :)
My dad was a diabetic and had a stroke November last year. It was really tough on me being the only child...it still is. You probably have noticed so far that I'm talking about him in past tense.
A small infection increased to full blown Pneumonia. The doctors gave me the worst news and then terrifying news about what I would have to face and the decision I myself had to make. He lasted a week and I held his hand to the very end...He passed November 22.
I am still grieving pretty hard however, I did manage to finish a swap. I was really behind in just about everything, even paying my bills. The swap, which was the 12 days of Xmas Secret Sister Elf swap, made me smile and even feel something other than sadness.
My Elf sent me a package with goodies that put a big smile on my face. Here are some pictures that I took of her gifts. I only opened this this morning. We all were to open them yesterday but my SS didn't get hers yet and I refused to open mine until she gets hers.

This is card she sent with my SS package. Blue is my favorite color and this picture does not do it justice!!! It's so pretty with touches of glitter.. Sweet

This is the inside of the box before I started ripping into it :)

They are all numbered for each day of Xmas. I'm a charm hog and I love them all..but look at the tiny little bucket !!! it's stinkin cute! And Teas with the most adorable names.. Night Owl and Unicorn Tears :) Love it

My SS fulfilled my next photo Big Grin!!

Comfy cozies sockies...*sigh* I just had to put them on :)

In this pic are handmade tea cups with teas inside them So creative and love this idea. Vellum paper that I wanted and Sparkle stamps that I adore and can't wait to use. This snowman tag is adorable. Snow men and penguins are the cutest for cards.

What more can I ask for.
I smiled, genuinely for the first time in weeks.

Hi everyone. I have a swap share :)

I finally decided to do a swap that interested me. It was a 3D swap and I did struggle with it because I had so many ideas going on in my head I couldn't make up my mind. I forgot to take pictures of the box but I did get my swap partner to send me one... I'm really glad she liked because I myself was a little unsure about it. But seeing it in an actual photo made it seem prettier than I gave myself credit for
This project consisted of two wooded trays the I attached together to incorporate a box. I gessoed to prime the box and then used (believe it or not)athletic tape a would use gymnast. It was flexible enough to hold the two tray together. I then chose some vintage paper to seal the box. All the embellishments were mostly made by me, except for some of the funky metal charms. I laced the edges with black lace and attached to metal corners to hold a draped chain in the front. I aged it with some distressed ink. the Inside I felted with some patterned felt in a deep red. She also got a little surprise inside. She loved it and I'm happy :)Hope you all like it.

My 1st Altered Project

Hi everyone :)

In my spare time I've been working on a couple of projects that I haven't tried before. With so many things going on in my life it was hard to concentrate to work on anything including making my cards. So I decided I needed a change. I had a Tim Holtz configuration box I bought awhile ago and have been wanting to do one for a long time. So I went for it. I made it for a friend of mine who got married awhile ago, and I have been MIA since before that. I will tell you a little of each picture. Description is under each photo. Click to enlarge each picture. I may have to make a video to see the full box.

Here it is :) Front view.
Many of the little pieces I made myself.

Angle View

Other Angle View

Top Left Corner.
The Angel hanging are made from beads. Even though you can't see it well there are wedding favors wrapped in organza.

Middle Left Side
The little presents were wrapped in floral wrap and ribbon. I used gold ribbon tape and silver Inkssentials Foil Tape by Ranger

Bottom Left Corner.
This is one of my favorites :) Suitcases for her honeymoon. Although they do look like bridal jewelry boxes :) I used bead caps a pearl and wire for the handle.

Bottom Middle
The Invitations, RSVP, the ring pillow and the rings were made by me. The rings were actually from a pair of old gold earrings and sewed on to the pillow. Pretty cool :)

Close up Front View

Center Of The Box
The bible I made card stock and printer paper. I attached a ribbon on the inside and had it flowing out of it. In the back there is a bouquet of flowers sitting upon a couple of pillows that are actually fabric buttons. Now and forever words were distressed and glittered.

Another View

Bottom Right Corner.

This is another one I liked while making it. The bucket, Champagne glasses and the Champagne bottle were all made and put together by me. The ice bucket is made from a cap from a spray bottle. The beads inside are ice cubes. The bottle is made from a pipette dropper colored with green alcohol ink. The cap is a wooden dowel. The glasses are tips of mechanical pencils with a bamboo stick for stems wrapped in foil tape to match the bottle.
Hanging in the corner is a bird cage with a bird.

Middle Right
The letters were from charms attached to beads and rhinestones. Also distressed for a shabby chic look. Clothes pin attached to the heart in the back.

Top Right Corner
The mini glass bottle has a little bit of sand and a fern leaf inside. Love letters also made. Made a tassel chain. The mirror in the back is a charm. How cute :)

Top Middle
I made the perfume bottle out of beads. Attached hearts and flower all throughout the middle.

Close Up View Of The Top Middle
You can't see it very well but there is a garter belt in the right corner with a blue bow. :))

Side View From Right Side
On the sides has rhinestones attached to the flowing organza ribbon. Roses were attached to the inside corners with white thin ribbon.

Side View From The Left Side
Same as the right side.

Last full Frontal View.

There are other details but you'll be able to see them more clearly when you enlarge the photos. Flowers were distressed and tinted. Fine glitter was also applied to many of the flowers. Butterflies, doves and wedding ribbon wrapped all around.

Well that's it for now.
Hope you all like it :)

Coming back soon :)

Hi everyone,

I have a few things that have been taking up a lot of my time, especially my dad. He is doing well but he has lost his independence of living on his own. Its been tough on him and watching it has made it hard to keep strong in front of him. Soon I will have to finalize his affairs and I'm not looking forward to it at all.

I hope everyone is having a great summer so far cuz up here in Canada with our crazy weather it seems ours is gunna be short. The rain, floods, just insane weather changes makes it hard to enjoy what little we have. In any case...

In my spare time which has been very minimal since my dads stroke, I have been working on a project that I've never tried before. A configuration box. I actually made it for a friend who got married, which was months ago, and I finally finished it LOL. I may do a YouTube video so people can actually see all the details but I will still post pictures when my camera decides to work.

However it is this awesome lady that inspired me to really try to do this project by always saying in her videos "you can do it, just try, it isn't hard at all" Well if it wasn't for her YouTube videos that I watch religiously over and over again, I would not have bothered.

Jennings644 Just click here to check out not only her competition but her videos :) Thanks to Fionna I got my groove back :)

My dad and his stroke journey

Hi everyone! I'm back from a long and tiring journey.  Like most, life comes first but blogging was always something I always turned too for a world far away from mine.

Even though my hectic life is still going..I need to let you all know a little of what's been happening.

I've had epilepsy since I was two and life for me was always limited to what I wanted most. I tried new medication until I found one that worked without horrible side effects. I'm feeling great and much more at ease. Then...my dad had a stroke. So there has been a lot of things I've had to learn. I still am. I'm fighting a battle with Dr,s and hospitals that don't want to help. They just want to put him in a home when he hasn't been given the choice to rehabilitate to decide if that is the case. He is very aware about everything. So...with that said, my dad and I make a team to be reckoned with. I won't give up and neither will he.

That is all I'm going to say for now until I know more.

Thanks for reading and I will update soon

WOW it's been that long...

...and here I thought it was only a few months that I had posted anything on my blog! Time to catch up and post up my cards :)

It has been a tough and stressful few months with life. I miss posting and hearing about everyone's creations and days. So, there is a lot for me to tell you all but I will update you one post at a time.

1st my health wast the greatest and was feeling really out of sorts for all different kinds of reasons. I have epilepsy so the new meds took awhile to get used to, especially with side effects. Not sleeping, no real appetite that sort of thing. However, in that time I did manage to make a few cards when i first got my new silhouette...weeeee...was so happy an excited that I just wanted it to work right away. Well...lol...honestly the only problem I had was the blade that came with it. It was cutting but not cutting well enough through certain cardstocks. I got a new blade and have been having fun using it ever since. Here are some of the cards I made with the Silhouette. These tea cups were from the Silhouette store and couldn't resist the design.

I hope you all like them :)

Cards: Heavy based white CS Neenah paper, Bazzill CS (tea cups and frame), PP cut from Silhouette, Ebellishments: Iamroses petals, flower wire, string pearls and flat, mini paper flowers, rhinestones, ribbon and a felt flower.

You have to check this list and why its up. It's very long but you wouldn't believe how many there are...especially if you've never seen this list before. While you're there check out her blog. Her cards are fab :)

HMMmmm......I now have an idea in mind for one of these weird holidays...I'll be back later y'all :)

First Silhouette Project!! Yay

Well I'm thrilled with my Silhouette!!! Everything about it I love and i still have so much more to do :)
I decided to cut out a round flower flourish that I found on the Studio site. I don't do Valentines cards to often but I thought I should at least try. The image the silhouette cut out was so pretty that I had to use it...and on a valentines card it goes.

So what do you think..? :)

I will have more very soon!

My New Silhouette CAMEO!!

Hellooooo everyone!!!
Happy Monday
I've been really busy lately but I wanted to share with some awesome news. I got a Cameo :)  Wooohoooo!! I've been searching and searching for a Silhouette for a long time now, and it's tough to get one here in Canada without paying either huge shipping costs. I didn't want to wait for pre ordering because, I hate the wait and well...I have no patience LOL. I've drooled and panted over this machine and was shocked that my DH found one at an amazing price! He took me to get it almost 2 hours away from town (I love him). The weather wasn't the greatest either even hitting black ice. We got home safe and rested....until today :)

Jillian who owns the store Scrapbook Central is wonderful and kind, gave me some awesome deals along with my Silhouette. I started playing with it and at first i was having issues and a few of them have been figured out. I will post more this week and I plan on posting up some projects. Acckkk I'm so excited I can barely sit still :)

Anyways have a great day everyone :)

It's Finally a New Year

Happy New Year!

Ok...I'm 3 days late..! Lol
I do hope though all of you had a wonderful holiday.
I did :) I got a Kobo reader for Xmas so I was very happy :)

TIME FOR A CHANGE!!

So just to let you all know I'm trying to change the theme of my blog. I figure its time for a change. However it's driving me nuts. I have the old minima template and forgot how I created the three columns and so forth. I am also trying to put tabs on top of my blog to connect to other pages. I found that my blog can take a while to load to having pages for certain things will be helpful. I was on the web for about 6 maybe 7 hours trying to figure out how to add tabs at the top. Because this template is an older one, I'm finding difficult to find a tut to do this...and when I do, it just confuses me...lol

SO! before I post anything, I'd like to get this one thing done.

Suggestions or HELP is wholeheartedly WELCOMED :)
(did ya notice the bolded and highlighted areas?? lol can you tell I'm desperate!! lol)
See you all soon...I hope LOL

Been Busy! But a Slew of new CARDS!

Hello everyone!
I've been busy with the holidays and with that comes with no sleep and lots of anxiety...lol..however i finally managed to get some time to post up the Xmas cards i made for friends and family...
I really wanted to get out of the standard size and do mostly 5.5 x 5.5 cards. I didn't have envelopes so i used the Martha Stewart score board to make the matching envies. I don't have pics if those but i used sketching for the larger envies because the paper comes in the perfect size for square envelopes.
Take a look at what I've been working on and let me know what you think :)

I used a variety of supplies and techniques to make each card it's own...
Thank for looking and your comments are welcome and appreciated :)

Michelle

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Inkadinkado
Ink: Su EE Memento blk and Brwn
Paper: MAMBI, K& Company, Unknown DP, Bazzill CS, SU CS, WC paper for base.
