A Birthday Card Gone Wrong???

Hi everyone...

This is the do over card I made for my DD birthday, who btw didn't get a handmade card from me because I messed it up so bad that I literally SCRAPPED in the trash :( I was so frustrated that I gave up and bought her a card instead...lol...not that she minded but still! So here is the do over...I was still frustrated because it's still not what I envisioned.

If anyone wants to make any suggestions please do...I can the criticism..it's still not right...input everyone input...lol..

Maybe it's because it's a 5 x 7 card..? I dunno..

Thanks for looking!

Okay, I realize that I'm your newest follower so I'm not exactly entitled to give any suggestions. (And boy oh boy, I really do hope you actually wanted some input and weren't just saying it. Otherwise, consider me embarrassed!)

I think it's a very pretty card but the tag/sentiment is throwing it off, even though it's pretty in its own right. Maybe you could move that to the inside of the card?? Then maybe just a smaller "Happy Birthday" in that bottom left corner???

Now, feel free to visit my blog and make any suggestions you want on any of my cards since I was so bold with yours. I just ask that you reserve judgment on some of my first cardmaking attempts. I know they're bad. ;-)

Your card is really pretty Michelle! I love the flowers and leaves and the softness of the organza ribbon.
Since you asked for some input, perhaps the only thing I would change is the pink panel, a softer pink or PP would soften the card and not draw your attention away from the other elements.

I think the card is beautiful and I know that feeling of trying to figure out what to change to get it just right. I don't know if it will help but you could try sponging a little light tan over the white sentiment area and the pink panel. they are very stark color contrasts to the rest of the card which is muted. I don't know that it would make it any better but it might. Personally I'm not sure I'd want to risk messing with it. you could cut another sentiment panel and sponge on that one and lay it over to see it makes any difference.
good luck with it.
the real reason I came over was to comment on your S2G card, I love the girls. I love how you heard the curtain scream. I often hear images say stuff.
