Friends Are Precious

Good morning.

I've been trying my best to battle a cold that has been hanging around for awhile. It's difficult to breathe and sleep because of the coughing but keeping busy tends to keep me from falling asleep during the day. Napping doesn't help me when I do want to sleep at night. It's been suggested that I go to a sleep clinic for my insomnia as I do suffer from it every few months...it's strange really. Any whoooo...I'm trying to get better.

Well I love Kristina Werner. I follow her on YouTube and her blog. She is a great inspiration for when I need to get so MOJO going for simple cards that are easy to put together in a hurry or for something different.

She made a card using the Martha Stewart Circle Cutter. I have the SU circle cutter and don't like it as much as I like the MS. Kristina is the reason I invested in the MS cutter, she made it look so easy..lol. She makes everything look easy. This is a 4.25 x 4.25 card and the top of the card with the half circle is the part I used with the MS circle cutter. She has a YouTube video on how to make the half circle for the top part of cards. I made two :) I loved how it looked so much I had to make another. The flowers on this one really stand out and just loved the look :)
Thanks for looking!!

Fall Birthday For A Friend

Well I've been busy with making use of my new craft room and just loving what I'm coming up with. With all that room it's truly an inspiring area for me to be working in. A friend needed a birthday card for her son and I don't make too many masculine cards so this was a great challenge for me.

I tried to make it simple but somewhat masculine. I thought I achieved it, but I was told it's a unisex type card...what do you think..?

Card Recipe:

Ink: SU! Momento, Versafine
Paper: GP white, SU River Rock
Embeliishments: Punch, Stickles, pop dots, rhinestones,
thin twine.

Have a nice weekend all

It's A 25th Anniversary!

So we all know that we have certain milstones in life with ourselves and families. But in this day in age when a marriage can survive the 25 yr mark it's definitely a milstone. Don't get me wrong I believe that marriage is no fairytale but wouldn't you agree that marriage can be just as much work as it is raising a family...? It's shouldn't be, but the truth is that is takes two to make it...and make it strong. Remembering that friendship is just as important to the marriage as any other aspect of the relationship.

I made this card for a couple who recently had their 25th. An extraordinary couple at that. I went for the ageless look and I think I pulled it off. What do you think...?

I used MME PP for the background which made the rest of the card stand out beautifully. I antiqued the card and used a little shimmer on the ribbon. It's very subtle so you won't be able to see it in the picture. Needless to say I'm happy with the card, inside and out :)

Thanks for looking!

Punch Art Swap Card

HI! It's been a long time since I've posted. I'm back with lots of cards and creations so hopefully you all stay tuned. First I'd like to say that my summer has been a really long and hot one and lots has happen, good and bad, but without it life would be boring. I'm glad to be back to show everyone what I've been up too since my craft room makeover :)

Punch Art Addiction~Lovely Lion

The link above is an amazing blog with lots of Punch Art inspiration, which is where I found the inspiration for this card that I made for a swap.

Kim has some free easy tutorials and even some for a really reasonable price. CHECK it out :)

I did use some different punches to sub the ones that were required for this cute Lion. But most of the punches were from Stampin' Up! This was my first attempt at this sort of thing and am quite pleased with the results.
The card size is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.

Have a great day everyone :)
