Hey everyone! Okay so I will be posting some cards this week but in the mean time I am organizing my stamp sets. I thought about cataloguing them on clear sheets by stamping them with Stazon ink so I know what stamps go with what set just in case one gets mixed up or lost in another set. I have bookcases but I have stuff on them...I was thinking about getting new bookshelves from Ikea so I'm able to add shelves as I go. Now my small dilemma is whether or not to catalogue the actual stamp sets alphabetical or by category. I figured that if catalogue the sets on clear sheets it would easy to just go and find the sets, but then I thought about space and time. Easy means fast...easy means less time...equals a good plan...lol...which I don't have...lol...
I have to start with my SU sets first then I can figure out my clear and unmounted sets.
Pictures are appreciated and ideas to keep cost down will help also.
Help me please :(
Thanks All

wish I could help... I need same advice LOL will keep poppin back in to see what suggestions you receive :)
i have MOST of mine by catagory, like, alphabets, background, flowers etc. the other half is just all mixed up...i need help too!!! LOL
Mine are basically all over the place. I tried categorizing my wood mounted stamp in these plastic brief case-like boxes and labeled them by category My clear stamps and unmounted stamps are dumped in a box so I could use more organizing too but I hate to spend my spare time doing that when I can be playing with my stuff instead. But organizing my stuff would make it easier to find I guess. Good luck in your quest. Show us pictures when you are done with whatever you decide todo.
I reallly have no suggestions other than, I do like my stamp stored in catogories by holiday, and the rest alphabetically. But, it they would only stay that way......good luck! hugs, michelle
I have very few wood mounted stamps and the ones I have are sitting on my shelves "on display". Most of my clear stamps are in CD cases or in a basket on my shelf. I have a binder that I keep a picture of all of my unmounted stamps in that I either printed the picture off of the internet or copied it on my copier. I love having that binder to reference when I am looking for a certain stamp or sentiment. That's all I can offer, will check back to see what other ideas you get as I am always looking to improve on my organization.
Mine are all mixed up too. My hubby built me a large shelf to hang on the wall so a lot of mine are on "display". I don't have a ton of sets though, mostly mine are single stamps although I do have some sets too.
Oh I can relate Michelle! I had mine organized but owning a stamp store I have collected so many more. That is a chore I need to do also. GOOD LUCK!
My mom made copies of the label sheet before, but you can make copies of the catty and catalogue the sets in aphla order.
I am also hosting a challenge this week, would love you to play along!

I would organize by category.
I don't have many wood mounted sets, so cataloging is not something I need to do. My clear stamp sets are cataloged and in a binder. I don't stamp each image, I go online and print the images from the company website.
My die cuts are catalogued by shape alphabetically. That way if I am looking for an Apple, I know to look under A and find it that way. I don't know if that would work for your stamps...
