I can't even begin to tell the kind of impact this man had on me as a kid and growing up....it is still unbelievable to me that he's no longer going to create his kind of genius. I am seriously mourning my childhood. He was my childhood and when he passed I felt like it died with him...does that make sense...my heart broke when CNN finally confirmed his death.
I loved to dance as a kid...I copied every move he had in all of his videos including Thriller. He was the happiest memory of my unhappy childhood. I escaped listening to his music and dancing to his songs perfecting his moves...going to the thriller concert, my very first concert ever was definitely the highlight of my childhood...yes I am still a die hard fan even throughout his weirdness. His talent will and has surpassed all of it...
It doesn't matter to me what people say about him...there is no one like him...he had more of a positive impact on this planet than his negative will ever have.
I was discussing how big this is going to get with my DH and we both believe that this is going to be bigger than the Princess Di death...Elvis's death even JFK....
Tell me what you think....no bashing please.

Hi Michelle, DH and I were so shocked as well! He was far too young to pass away. He was a BIG deal when we were children and it is strange to see that gone. Hope you are doing better (:
i think your right. i know i had my michael jackson poster hanging on my wall when i was a kid. my daughter is on a dance team and someone is always dancing in competition to one of his songs. musical genius for sure!
I totally agree!! I was getting phone calls from Tn and Fla asking me if I had heard the news, every one was grieving.
Michael did do awesome work but I will have to disagree that his death will be bigger than Elvis's death. Princess Di maybe but not Elvis.
Very sad indeed. I too grew up with him and loved all his music. His talent will never be matched. The man was a genius.
He definitely was an icon and a great performer. He will be missed greatly that's for sure!!
I totally agree. I was so shocked when I saw my local news that he passed away. I'm sad for his family, his kids. He had alot more to share with us. How lucky you were to go the the Thriller concert! He was awesome! Thank you for posting this, I'm so sick of the bashing....he does not deserve that....hugs, michelle
Michelle, I echo your sentiments about his music and his positive impact on the world. It has been a blow to all of us of a certain age that are very familiar with his career. I have enjoyed watching the videos that I have not seen in a while. Makes you wonder why we didn't appreciate him when we had him. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings.
I know I grew up with his music. He had some great songs that I still enjoy.
I'm so sorry you are suffering so much over this loss, I doubt there are many of us that don't have some warm association to hearing his voice.
I think I can actually say that he was my first love. It was a toss-up between him and Donny, but eventually he won out. I think it may have been his quiet shy ways and the deput of the 'Moon Walk'. Then again, it could have been the anticipation of watching the 'Thriller' video on Much Music. He was a lot of things to a lot of people,..........and if nothing else , he was the epitome of, 'money and fame doesn't always bring you happiness'! RIP, love Tracy
Yes, I believe that Michael Jackson died too young and is an icon in the music industry. I feel very sad for his children and am worried about the exploitation in his death...
He will be missed.. but his music can be with us forever.
it's still hard to believe that an icon really passed...
stopping by to see how you are-
If your profile photo is real..... you are so beautifull. forgive my bad intrusion but it's what i think.
bye
I was in the 8th grade when my teacher put a record of "I'll be There" on. She said she just wanted us to see that we can do anything in life because he was so young and already successful. From that day on, he was in my life, then my children's lives, and my grandchildrens. But not just as a legend of his time (he was that from day one) but as someone we prayed for. He was our friend and did not even know it. Too bad he could not be closer to the public who loved him so much that we turned him into a very lonely person. Now, we will pray for his children who we love as we loved him.

I still can't believe Michael is no longer with us. one of my biggest regret in life that I never saw him in concert. the first cassette I ever purchased was "Thriller" and I had a life sized poster of him in my bedroom. There is not a day that I don't listen to his music.RIP Michael, you will live with your fans forever
